The DESY Library welcomes you and your family members!
We are the central library for all employees on the DESY campus. However, not only do we have media for work, we also have a few for leisure and personal development. Moreover, we offer a public shelf for book sharing.
General information on using the DESY Library
Most of our services and media are available in English and German. We issue free library cards so you can borrow media from our collection. We would be happy to guide you through the library or help you to find items.
You can use our printers, photocopiers and scanners free of charge. There are also some work stations in the library with Internet access.
We also advise you on what other libraries in Hamburg have to offer and what other free accessible media can be found on the Internet.
Buying new media for your stay in Hamburg
We would like to make your arrival and stay more pleasant and provide you with media and literature. For this reason, we are planning right now to put together a special offer for people who have fled from Ukraine and found accommodation on the DESY campus. Such media and literature do not have to be borrowed.
Please feel free to suggest suitable media (e.g. media for language learning courses). Pay us a visit or simply write to ukrainesupport@desy.de. We would also be happy if you would take time and fill in our questionnaire below about your media needs. Bring in the completed questionnaire or come by and fill it in at one of our workstations. You may also print it out on site. Thank you :-)!

You are very welcome to take a look around. We have designed an on-site exhibition with various English and German media from our collection. We look forward to your visit!
